This site is a free resource for people preparing for hajj. It is written with care, but it is written by people, and people make mistakes. Here is how we work, so you know what to trust and what to check.

Every source is shown

Every verse of the Qur’an and every hadith on this site is shown with its reference, so you can check it yourself.

  • Qur’an. The Arabic text and each translation come from published translations, named under every verse. Each verse links to quran.com.
  • Hadith. The Arabic is from the collections. Each hadith shows the narrator, the collection, the number and its grade, and links to sunnah.com.

How hadith are numbered

Hadith numbers follow the numbering used on sunnah.com. For Sahih Muslim this is the numbering of Muhammad Fuʾad ʿAbd al-Baqi, which is the one most scholars cite. Other editions and websites sometimes number differently, so if a number does not match your book, search by the words of the hadith.

The English and Turkish translations of hadith on this site are our own, made from the Arabic. They are kept close to the original. Words in square brackets are added to make the meaning clear.

Grades

Hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim are accepted as authentic. For hadith from other collections, we show the grade and who gave it. Where scholars disagree about a grade, we say so.

Where the schools differ

Where the four Sunni schools (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, Hanbali) disagree on a ruling, you will see a box showing each view. You can choose your school and the site will highlight it. The rulings are short summaries. For your own situation, follow the scholar of your group.

Review

Every page shows its status at the top:

  • Draft: written, not yet checked by a scholar.
  • Being checked: with a scholar now.
  • Checked by: the name of the scholar who checked it, and the date.

Until a page is checked, read it as a starting point, not as a fatwa.
