Hajj from Türkiye

In Türkiye, hajj is organised by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Here is how the process works and where to find the official information.

Draft. Not yet checked by a scholar.

How it works

Hajj from Türkiye goes through the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı). Saudi Arabia gives each country a quota, so places are limited and many people wait several years.

The usual steps are:

  1. Pre-registration (ön kayıt), opened by Diyanet each year.
  2. The draw (kura), which decides who goes this year.
  3. Final registration and payment, either with a Diyanet group or with a licensed private agency.
  4. Training seminars, run by Diyanet before departure. Attend them. They are where you meet your group and its scholar.
  5. Health checks, vaccinations and passport, as Diyanet announces.

Dates, prices and requirements change every year. Always check the official Diyanet pages below before you act.

What the official training covers, and what this site adds

Diyanet’s training portal has a step-by-step guide to the rites, du’as, fatwas and a glossary, in Turkish. Use it.

This site is a companion to it, not a replacement. Here you will find the weekly spiritual preparation, the Arafat planner and the day by day guide, with every source shown.

If you live abroad

Turkish citizens living in Germany and other European countries can also go with Diyanet’s organisation abroad. See the Germany page.
